Agreement

General Workshop Operations

By placing an order with Grain & Joint, you agree to the practices and material tolerances standard within our workshop. Every piece we craft is created using solid timber and traditional joinery methods. Because wood is a natural material, slight variations in grain pattern, texture, and color are expected and celebrated as part of the handcrafted nature of the work.

We take immense care to select stable, high-quality timber. However, environmental factors such as humidity and temperature variations in your space may cause minor movement in the wood. This is a natural characteristic of solid wood furniture and does not constitute a defect.

Bespoke Service

Custom Commissions and Payments

All custom furniture projects begin with a formal quote, which remains valid for thirty days from the date of issue. Once a design is approved, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place in our workshop schedule and fund the acquisition of raw materials.

  • A fifty percent deposit is required before any workshop crafting begins.
  • The remaining balance must be cleared prior to the collection or dispatch of the finished piece.
  • Alterations requested after crafting has commenced may incur additional material and labor charges.

Due to the highly personalized nature of bespoke commissions, we cannot accept returns or cancellations once the timber has been cut and assembly has started.

Logistics

Completion and Collection

Project timelines are carefully estimated but remain subject to material availability and workshop capacity. We will keep you updated on the progress of your furniture.

Upon completion, pieces can be collected directly from our workshop. If transit assistance is required, we can connect you with trusted transport partners. Please note that once the furniture leaves our workshop premises, the responsibility for safe handling and transit rests with the carrier.
